A Smart Pacifier to Track Your Baby's Fever

Posted by Namely Newborns on Jan 6th 2015

At Namely Newborns, we like to stay up to date on the latest news and technologies on baby care, so, when we found out about the smart pacifier, Pacifi, we were very intrigued. We know that when baby is sick, it can be very nerve racking, especially if it's your first born, so anything that can help you ease the process is a great help. The Pacifi is just that, as it is a pacifier designed to track your baby's fever so that you are not causing further discomfort to the baby with thermometer probes.

The pacifier is made for babies and toddlers and has a thermometer built into its silicone teat and a Bluetooth chip that sends temperature readings to a paired smartphone. The Pacifi app can be used with Anroid and iOS and you can view a live reading and see previous ones in a timeline graph, so that you can see the improvement or decline of baby's condition. The app also allows one to share the data easily with a doctor. Plus, the app allows you to set up dosing reminders for your child's treatment.

Plus, the Pacifi isn't only useful for taking your child's temperature, but it is also has a proximity monitor that sends notifications to your smartphone if your child is out of a 30-meter range. The app will use your phone's GPS to make a note of the last known location of the pacifier. Also, If you do lose the pacifier, you can trigger a miniature siren that's built into it to track it down.

The Pacifi is also very easy to wash as it is hermetically sealed and you can't replace the battery that is expected to last between 12 and 18 months. Pacifi is set to launch in the US at some point in the first half of this year.
